UVB Light Exploded?

I just got the reptisun 5.0 tube light, then I got the hood recommended for it. I had no clue how to put it in, so I put it in like it looked like on the package, it wouldnt turn on, so then I twisted it because the white things holding it did and it turned red and started flashing red and white.. I think it exploded. 0-0
I need some help, I dont want my cham to go without uvb. Thanks.

Don't know what happened but maybe the bulb or hood was defective? I would go back to the store and exchange both bulb and hood. They should be able to refund you your money or do an exchange. Good luck!

The tube needed to be twisted a certain way into the hood...did you check to see if maybe you turned it the wrong way and broke the prongs off the light?

I turned it right, i belive ( Like right, like right and left)
I will go check the prongs now..

my pet store offers a 24hr guaenty on all bulb i would just go see who you bought it from

both just to be safe and ask them to put it in for you so you have some first hand knowledge ion how to properly do it for future reference.

These lamps sometimes fizzle out like that. You can contact ZooMed and if you have the receipt still, scan it and email it to them. They will send you a new one for free. If you don't have the receipt contact them anyway, they'll still replace it.... you just have to send them the burnt out lamp first.

I have had lots of lamps replaced before with zero issues.
