Howdy Naomi,
A lot depends on the distance of those measurements . A reading of 20uW/cm2 at 12" would indicate a tube functioning within spec as would a reading of 70uW/cm2 at maybe 4". Some research suggests that Veileds and Panthers will do ok in the range of 25-50uW/cm2 of UVB from a Reptisun linear tube. That means you could move your "weak" tubes a bit closer and your strong tubes a bit farther away . Handy having one of those Solarmeter 6.2 UVB meters isn't it .
Note: Neither 20 or 70 uW/cm2 are at such limits as to cause health concerns but, for example, if your readings were at 5 or 200 uW/cm2 then I'd be concerned and make adjustments accordingly.
Howdy David,...between a Repti-sun 5.0 and a 10.0 ?
...Repti-sun 5.0 because the one at the store was almost $30.00. I hoped to order one for cheaper on the web. The site i found only had Repti-sun 10.0.
It seems like (based on the above post by Dave Weldon) that a 10.0 might be Ok if kept at a distance or maybe even just let the cham regulate himself. I can do some more searching later today...
