uva? please help

Do you need to have daylight bulbs/plant lights over the cage in order to get the necessary UVA? I know UVB can't get through windows (that's what the Reptisun 5.0 is for), but can UVA?

Placing my cage near a sunny window (half shade, half sun during the afternoon hours). I have the Reptisun light and I am trying different incandescent bulb wattages to get the right basking temp. Do I need to invest in a plant light too?

We are planning to get a CB male veiled this weekend at the New England expo, hopefully from a local breeder. I want everything to be set up and ready BEFORE we bring him home.

plant lights are not necessary unless you have live plants(which is recommended) but regular basking (uva) is. You can achieve this by using an ordinary white housebulb. Depending on what basking temp you are trying to get, you try different wattages. I would start with 40 watt and go from there. You do not need to by an expensive basking light. Most of us use housebulbs.
