using mesh?

Hi guys im just converting a kitchen unit for my yemen and was wondering whether to use mesh on the front or glass? what is better

if you have adequate ventilation, you can use glass. Most of us prefer the screen cages. Personally, I would use screen. JMO Alot of people use glass in the colder climates.

thanks think i will go with the mesh i can always do full /part glass later but our room is always warm due to all the other vivs lol

Visibility is better with glass or acrylic. If humidity control is not a problem, I'd go with that as long as the sides and top offer enough circulation.

If I had the option between screen and mesh I'd go screen every time. I dont know if you men screen/mesh or fabric mesh but anyway aluminum screen if you dont go acrylic. Chams just seem to walk better on screen compared to mesh and Ive seen a few chams get their nails stuck in mesh. I made a mesh cage a long time ago from an old book shelf and sometimes I could hear my chams nails pulling off the mesh. Like harder to release or something so I ditched it.

There is a recent thread in here right now where a chams nail was torn by mesh. It can also cause infection when nails are damaged. Just wanted to share might help your decision.

It depends on the size of the mesh or screen, as either can be used to describe the interlocked fabric/wire used on most cages.

Larger the holes isn't always better, then you can't free range feeders. Smaller can get nails caught. I personally will be using hardware cloth mesh. I hand/cup feed anyway, and there's no chance for him to get his nails caught.

Standard aluminum screen or acrylic then.

I think the best of both worlds personally, screen/mesh on top for ventilation and glass/plastic on bottom for humidity.
