I kept uros for a while; malis, yellow saharans and ornates. I actually had one of the first cb yellow saharans in the US from Douglas Dix. So, to answer your question, no. The Mali gets much bigger than the ornate at a much faster rate. Separate them.

ahh ok i don't have an ornate at the moment i was looking into getting one and i just wanted some prior knowledge so i could either get a new tank or put them together.

Are ornates aggressive at all? I really don't have a problem with my mali he has never gotten an attitude with me

No

Uros are generally not aggressive. If you are looking for one, get one from Douglas Dix at Deerfernfarms.com. He is the uro master. Check out his site. It's full of great info. Also, if you are not, you should feed them dry lentils and peas. Just toss them around the tank and they will crunch them up. That is the best way for them to get thier protien. And yes, they can eat them even as hard as they are. (You ever had one bite you? It freakin' hurts!!!!!!!!
