URGENT Veiled Chameleon almost died yesterday

We have a female veiled chameleon who is about 8 months old and needs to lay her (infertile) eggs. We have a mix of forest substrate kind of like soil in her bin. 2 days ago she stopped eating. Yesterday we found her in the bottom of her cage upside down with her legs sticking up in the air and she was dark brown and her eyes were bulged out of her skull and closed. We thought she was dead for sure but then she opened her mouth so we brought her out into the sun and tried to give her some water. After about 15 mins she seemed incredibly strong for her condition she was gripping onto my finger tightly. After about half an hour her color started lightening up and after about an hour her eyes were back in her skull and open. A bit longer and she was back to normal like nothing ever happened. It was like watching her come back from the dead.

We took her to the vet a month or so ago and got calcium supplements to help the shells solidify so she could lay. After what happened yesterday now we worry that if she doesn't lay them soon she will die, and she hasn't even started digging any test tunnels.

Please any advice, we haven't given up on her yet. If she could come back from the condition she was in yesterday she must be strong enough to make it through this.

How deep is the soil and can it hold a tunnel? It should be alteast a foot deep and a foot wide. If the conditions are not right she may not lay. You can also take her to the vet and get her a shot of oxytocin to induce laying. How long as she been holding the eggs?
