Urgent please help! Chameleon soaking himself with water!!!

Hi my veiled chameleon (Smeegle) is just staying under my big dripper and letting water drip all over his body! The water is room temp (77 farenheit). He is a Juvinille Veiled Male Chameleon. Hasnt gone into shed yet. Has been drinking water regularly. His cage is 86 at top and 77 at bottom. He stays in the middle under the big dripper. He eats about 1-2 crickets every hour (His choice after 1-2 he wont eat any more per hour). I'm really worried why he wants to be soaked in water??? Is he about to shed? HELP!!! Pic and Video below!:confused::confused:

Some chams enjoy the water drops. Since I think you recently got him, I wouldn't stress about getting him out to soak. Just keep his dripper full and he'll move out from under it when he wants to. He could be going into a shed, there are a few signs such as lighter/pale skin, going off food, being grumpy, etc... If he's going into shed, the water dripping on him would certainly help that process. Misting can help too.

Thanks

Thanks a lot! I thought he had parasites but he is getting more pale and showing other signs of shed and not parasites. Thanks again! :D

He could stand some more cover in that cage to give him places to hide and some different areas to drink from. I’m not sure where in the US you are located but it is pretty hot right now so he may just be using the drip to cool off a bit. That and chameleons aren’t all that smart.
