Urate too yellow?

IMG_1178.jpg

So my six month old veiled has been in a free range set up for the past couple months. He has access to a MistKing that sprays for 1 minute every hour from 10 AM to 5 PM. I never see him drink from it... he does lap some water if I spray him with a water bottle sprayer, but hates water and usually runs from it.

So I have been relying on getting my feeders (at this time only crickets, because he does not eat anything else!) to give him moisture. My crickets eat veggies and fruits, and have access to powder Bug Burger and a petri dish full of foam and water.

Anyways, I noticed this rather large urate and snapped a picture because there was a large yellow portion. I searched and couldn't find great pictures to determine which is too yellow or those that are appropriate.

I hope this picture will allow more experienced owners let me know if I need to some how up his water consumption, or if he is doing OK.

Thanks for your feedback!

I would say that this urate is something to be mildly concerned about. My advice is to obtain a good pressure pump hand mister such as this one - http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p26690?gclid=CPv988TEgbYCFXDKtAoda2oA7A

Use warm water to gently and slowly spray him once a day. Make it about 5 mins or until you are sure he has finished his drinking and eye maintenance.
Then you will have a perfectly hydrated Veiled Chameleon :)

As he gets older you can make it every other day if you like, but of course while he is shedding it is best to keep humidity up.
