Urate is a bit orange this morning...

Hi guys, typically my Jackson's urate looks pretty awesome. Today it's not as white as usual.

I'm wondering why this is so randomly -- he is watered (dripper) for about an hour a day (sometimes I break it up into 15 minute intervals depending on when I have class so he can drink when he is thirsty) - I spray the leaves multiple times throughout the day (yesterday I believe I did 5 good cover-everything-with-water sprays), and also his fogger is pointing towards a leaf so it always has some drips on it (I've seen him utilize this).

Anything I can do? Or did he just decide not to drink yesterday?

His set-up is good, I've had him for quite awhile now and I've posted the "How To Ask For Help" quite a few times. :)

P.S. - his poop is normal too.

Is it possible it is because my crickets have gotten a new diet within the past month?

Like 80% collard greens and mustard greens, 20% carrots. Maybe it's the carrots? But I don't offer too many...

I wouldn't worry about it too much less it becomes a chronic condition. Some orange in the urate from time to time is normal in my experience.

How long to your misting sessions last? Mine seem to need 5 minutes + before their drinking instinct kicks in.

Thanks for the reply you guys! I was thinking of getting a fecal sometime soon (hard part will be finding a vet within 50 miles that does it...). He's never had one. It's not like his poop STINKS, but it smells like poop, not strong, but I'd still want to be sure all his internal processes are working. :)

As far as the misting sessions go, I've never really timed them -- I'll see about it! I'm assuming between 7-10 minutes because I have to switch hands a lot, they get so tired. Lol.

if its an occasional one, its normal.

sometimes they hold their poop in for a while, so it will dehydrate more as it stays in the body (as the body absorbs the water in it)

as long as its not a repeat color, its ok.

If it happens often maybe see if he'll eat some greens with his bugs or try silk/horn worms. They are suppose to help with hydration.
