Urate sort of orange and white. I know orange means de hydrated but I see him drinking and I even had him drink from a brand new clean turkey baster that I was just dripping on his crest ... He looks hydrated fat tail crest is full and round but his urate seams not right.

Any suggestions??

And as for showering what should I keep him on an I usually treat my water with repti safe before watering his enclosure so should I not shower him cuz my water might be chlorinated?

Take a pic o the urates if u can. A little orange tip usually isn't horrible. It's become semi normal for my guy to have one.
To shower him put him on a plant on the bottom and aim the Luke warm shower water at the wall so he just gets the spray from it. But I don't think its neccessary if he's drinking.

I can't post a pic right now but more then half of it was orange so I just might need to shower him I'll see what happens keep you updated

I would also say definitely try a shower. We found a large branch (@ 4 in diameter, and 4 ft long) in our nearby woods that we prop in the shower. We aim the shower head at the top of the branch, and put the chams toward the bottom, and let them do what they want. They LOVE it!!!!

Otherwise, just keep an eye on it. A little orange now and then isn't dangerous.

I will try a shower tmrw after he eats a bit and see how he does with it he seems a little stressed and I wish I knew how to calm him because that would make me alot less stressed haha:).... I just really don't want him to be sick or anything or mad or anything he doesn't seem to be appearing dehydrated as I know some signs but he has been eating and I actually have seen him drink a few times but I haven't seen him drink a ton or anything so hopefully he isn't sick. He has a fat tail an a rounded nice beautiful crest that doesn't appear to be deflating so those are all good signs correct I'm not new at this but I am not a pro by any means I still have alot of work

Sometimes if they haven't pooped/passed urates in awhile the tissue will re-absorb the moisture of the urate so it will look yellow or orange even though the animal is well hydrated. Had it been a few days since you saw poop?

It had been two days since I saw his urate with his poop but today I caught him in the act and it was half orange and white. So maybe what your saying is what happened as I haven't had this ambilobe for that long but he has been eating 5-8 crickets a day and drinking especially when I drip it on his crest so hopefully that was it I hope I'm just too over protective and over worried about this an it won't be an issue do we will see hopefully no bet visit needed and he is gravy :)

I don't think it's really possible to be over protective...it's just a learning curve. It's natural at the beginning to be extra attentive (remember how you were when you first learned to drive).

Did I miss how long you've had him?

I have had him about 5-6 days now I recieved him from a friend and other then the urate today he has been eating an drinking like normal I figure so thanks for the input I will keep posting on this thread for more info and knowledge on ambilobes and such like I said I just hope he isn't getting sick of anything I'm not super new too Chams but I am no professional at te same time but I have a ton of books an such that I've read and I know general husbandry very well for most species so we shall see how he is tmrw

I saw him drink today when I gave him his first misting of the day and when I saw him after I was done I just left so he wouldnt stop so I hope he just kept drinking. I haven't fed him yet but I will be in about 30 min and he usually eats them all or leaves a couple small ones. I hope he is fine he seems to be so maybe I was freaking out yesterday and it was just nothing.

Yay! If you've only had him 5 or 6 days, then chances are the urate you saw was from his time with his previous owner. Keep up the misting and check the next urate, I bet it's nice and white!

Okay I will keep misting and updating hopefully less lithargic then yesterday but a I said he seems fine so hopefully his next urate and poop will be nasty and white and brown :)
