Ups and Downs with Amy!

What an eventful day! Earlier, I was holding Amy and she took a leap right off of my hand and landed with a splat on the floor with her legs splayed out! Boy, can baby chams move fast! She seems ok and is moving and acting as normal. She landed on carpet so at least she had a soft landing! She took a waxie from me while she was sitting on my hand too!

After that 'down' moment, she then gave me an 'up' moment too! When I was doing her afternoon misting, she ran and hid like she usually does. After a while she turned around and walked out onto the vine right where I was spraying, and sat there licking her lips as the mist landed on her! It was so cute!

So, thanks Amy for nearly giving me a heart attack and following it up with a happy moment!

I hope there was no injury unoticed. They can indeed move fast when they want to.
Whenever I have to move Homer, or take him outside, I think of this.
I prefer to take no chances, so I always use a safety net, that is, I keep a large tub on hand, about 90 liters (2ftx2ftx1.5ft). I let homer climb on my hand, then my hand goes in the tub and I put a tangle of plastic plants on top and carry the tub.
Since I never have to go far, by the time he climbs my arm to the top of the tub, hes there.
Alternately, you could use a smaller tub, cut a cham size hole in the lid. Get the cham to walk on the stick, then put the top of the stick through the hole, Since they naturally climb upward, it climbs the stick into the tub (which you have upsidedown obviously), cant fall/jump etc.
Ofcouse, you can put the hole in the bottom if you like, then when you wherever your going, take the lid off, put your hand in, and it climbs aboard.
Just some simple ideas for safe transit.

thats a good idea,i took Mista in the garden this weekend and he freaked on the way back and did a backwards retreat.luckily my daughter was with me and she caught him..was so scary!

The joy of the drop and dash! They are buggers for that aren't they?! Glad she's ok. She'll keep doing it to keep you on your toes!
