Update on Waldo

I figured an update on Waldo is long overdue for those of you that remember my previous threads about him.

He has so far overcome his URI completely and I believe his eye infection is gone however his cornea is scarred and he does not have much vision in that eye.

He is now going through treatment for parasites that I recently found out he had. He went through a panacur treatment recently for it, and is now on reptaid. He is showing improvement, he no longer exhibits constant stress colors and does not fall anymore like he used to.

Here is a picture I just took of him showing his normal relaxed coloration as he nears his next shed.

It sounds like Waldo is finally turning the corner Jake!

GREAT NEWS!!

I sure hope so, then again I never really know with this guy. Every time it seems like he is getting better something else pops up haha. Hopefully he doesn't need any further treatment after this.

Boy i am glad for the update and good news on Waldo. He is a tuff little guy, I am glad he is with you.

Thank you, and yeah he must be a fighter to have made it through all this. Hopefully his appetite picks up so he can actually start growing haha. He's like 9 months old and only about 10 inches total length haha.

Looks like I jinxed myself... While I gave Waldo his reptaid this morning I noticed some more gunk in his eye. Looks like I'm back to rinsing that eye out daily again with saline.

Does anybody know of any medicine that could help an eye infection that isn't terramycin or gentamycin? He already went through both of those treatments and neither got rid of it.

I took some time and rinsed his eye carefully and even went over it with a Q-Tip gently and managed to get all the gunk out of his eye and I found what could have been a scab or a small piece of bark in his eye.

Hopefully I got absolutely everything out, and I'll keep doing this daily until the eye looks better.

If that piece of bark or scab in his eye was what was causing all the trouble over these months, I will sure be surprised that it has not come out before from all the rinses I've done.

His eye looks MUCH better after this cleaning, so hopefully it will show some more improvement in the days to come.

He`s looking really good now. I`m so glad he`s on the mend - you have both really been through the mill to get here. :)

Thank you, and yes haha he's gone through alot. Hopefully after this last bit of treatment he will be healthy and normal and won't need any further special care.

What can cause orange urates other than dehydration. He has had orange urates for a while now and he shows no other sign of dehydration and I watch him drink multiple times a day.

It started before medication, so that is not altering his urate color. He is eating crickets with occasional superworms with a varied gutload, so I do not suspect that is the cause either.

I know that problems with his kidneys could be a cause but I am hoping that is not it and I am wondering what else could cause this.
