So it has been a couple weeks, and Rory is doing pretty well! He is a bit stronger, a little more energetic. He seems to be healing pretty well, too, which is good but also means that I didn't have a chance to continuously flush the wound (the vet gave me the proper tools to continue to flush any remnants of the infection out, but he healed so fast!). The antibiotics seem to be working great, though. He had a shed just about a week ago, and it went a lot faster than the last time or two.
I'll be taking him down in about a week and a half for the other foot and a check-up on this first one. Hopefully he will handle this other anesthesia technique better than the first time - almost lost him because he didn't handle it well. But they will try something different, and we will see how it goes!
I'm going to try to attach a pic I took a couple days after his surgery. I rigged up some vines on my porch and sat with him in the sun. He is looking better now, but I didn't get a picture recently.
