update on my rescue

My rescued veiled had a huge improvement today:) His cloaca still has sutures and were taking them out tomorrow and keeping fingers crossed that he doesn't prolapse again. He's passing thru them so that's good. Poop looked pretty good today!
He's move active and able to stand all the way up on all 4 legs:)
I have been misting him. he drinks from that and also his drip I made. My crickets are gut loaded and I've been dusting them too. When I got him out for his antibiotics about 30 mins ago I noticed the thing on his head has an "s" curve across the top and firm. Friday am when he was signed over it was on the rubbery side.

Since he's is stronger, I weaved one of those bendable vines around but still close to the floor incase he falls. The highest point is maybe 4" from the bottom.

He's also shedding more now and is the brightest prettiest color!! I so hope he makes it!!

Glad to hear it. His causqe his firming due to his increase in dehydration and overall health. Hope all goes well with the suture removal. keep doing what you are doing, and you should have a healthy and happy addition to your family!! Best of luck.

Hey thanks....Causqe, so that's what its called. His urates were orangish and I read that was due to dehydration. It is white now:)
Pretty sure we're still gonna xray him tomorrow since he does have those fracture points on his legs that go along with MBD. I want to know how bad it is.

When I get to work, I'm telling everyone to leave him alone and DO NOT TOUCH!! I'm sure I'll end up being evil too..hehehe

Thanks again for the luck!!

Great job you are doing with your rescue, I always have a soft spot for any I rescue. Keep up the good work and let us know how it progresses.

fair play to you for the effort in saving this guy! by firming do you mean jis casque is bending? i seen a picture of a casque totaly bent over to 1 side before like a curl but nobody seem to know why ? id imagine it was mbd or some serious lack of calcium..

Tekno....His causqe wasn't bent over but was rubbery. The bent part i mentioned
is only across the very top and its only curvey...like an s. It is no long bendable.

As for everything else, we took sutures out and so far so good. He hasn't also pooped yet so I've got my fingers crossed.

His x-ray is pretty bad. In his legs, you can barely see the outline of his bones but the fracture points have more density. The vets I work for think its worth a shot to try and so do I since he's had some improvement. We have nothing at work for reptiles.
So, I made a call to my wonderful bird vet who sees reptiles a lot. She's VERY good in what she does. I told her about xrays and she told me what to get from pharmacy and a dose for him.
After seeing the x-ray, its a wonder he can even move with his jelly bones. ...it just breaks my heart!!!

Poor guy got tortured on the way home b/c I had so much to carry that I sat the cricket box in with him. He was on the branch next to it sticking his tongue out to get a cricket. He's definately got an appetite!!!
