Update on camilla

well she has started to dig once again , seems funny that she leaves it so late in the day to do it but hey ho im not complaining , will keep you all posted

well its now 11.13 pm and she is still digging she has been digging for 6 3/4 hours now , she hasnt come out and i can see her rear still sticking up so not laying yet , anyone know if i should knock the lights off and leave her too it ??

I would leave the lights on-mine finally finished digging and laid eggs at approx. 11:30pm at night. It was 3:30am when she covered them and I dug them up!

thanks she hasnt gone bum down yet but its the longest she has dug for so im hoping tonight will be the night (fingers crossed)

Ok quick update
camilla is now bum down so i think she is laying at exactly midnight she turned and is sitting bum down in a hole i have peeped and can see her nose sticking out and she is not moving , will update you as and when i find out more

If she diecides to stay there .... let her! She might just be taking a break and be very tired. Tomorrow you will know if she's done or not!

I'll bet you'll have eggs by then!!

its now 8am in the uk and she has finally emerged and is looking thinner and is back filling the hole , finally she has done it , just waiting for her to finish and then i will give her a big luke warm misting and then its the egg hunt , will let you all know how many and take some pics when i can , i stayed up with her till 3am then went to bed lol couldnt wait up any longer , got the pots warmed with vermiclite ready so her we go

May I be the first to congatulate you and the beautiful Camilla on whatever it is that she has laid? Sounds like she completed the mission! I knew she would do it when she was ready. Mine seem to like the wee hours of the morning too. Let us know the count when you get it. Can we have a new picture of the thinner Camilla too?

she was still covering at 10.30am this morning so left her too it
by midday she had finished and climbed out onto her ficcus , i gave her a good soaking and she drank for britain lol , she also had a couple of wax worms as a treat (im bad)
right took the laying box out and could see where the eggs were

then came the part of scooping out untill we got here

Altogether she had 39
but one was crushed the first one out by the looks so 38
good ones

and here she is slim and slender

I would like to thank everyone especially dave for all the support you have given through this ordeal

38 is a nice normal number of eggs!
I get so freaked out when I here about girls laying 70 or 80!
In my opinion, you're doing something right!

Oh! Congrats! That is so cool! Perfect well calcified eggs! And now the waiting begins!

Trust me Brad-I was terribly freaked out about my 78 eggs, but I am pretty sure I wasn't doing anything wrong since she has proper temps and was not overfed.

Oh don't be feeling bad at all ... feed her all she will eat for the next few days as she needs to rebuild protein, fat and especially calcium. Give her lots of water and space so she can recover.

WOW ... thirty eight eggs that's great! Apparently you don't want too high a number as it can wear out the female and shorten her lifespan. I just checked my 26 eggs and all seem to be doing fine so far! <knock on wood>

Check on the eggs every few days and if they seem to be caving in moisten the vermiculite a bit more and if they start to get fungus on them let them dry out a bit. I'm sure that there's a thread here somewhere with more detailed care of the eggs.

Now for the LOOONNNGG wait .... the hatching. And then the fortune to spend on pinhead crickets!! LOL

well thought i would update you all on camilla and the eggs

she is eating like a train and drinking very well although every time she sees charlie she goes black and her lovely gravid colours lol , she hasnt returned to the normal green colour i thought she would but has still got the yellow and blue on her . The eggs well they are in a home made incubator which consists of a small glass tank with a mesh top , the floor is raised and i have a heat mat under it the three tubs are in the tank with a thermometer which tells me inside a tub temp via a probe and the tank temp , have been checking the eggs every two days letting the water drip back into the vermicalite off the tub lids and then wiping the lids and replacing them but only layed on top not pushed on tight , yesterday i noticed one egg had started to shrivel slightly so i added a drop of water close to the egg and replaced the lid checked them today and the shriveled egg has re-hydrated itself so all looks good again

well both camilla and eggs are still doing fine , although camilla seems to be filling out again , how long is it from first laying and then second clutch ?, she is eating and drinking very well
