Unidentified skin patch on veiled cham

hello,

while holding my cham (Reptar) today, i noticed a small patch of yellowish skin that seemed inflamed on her tail. She has reciently molted, so i stroked it very gently to see if it was just left over skin; it was not. She flinched away as i touched it, making me think it hurt her. If it is something serious i want to stop it before it gets worse.

any idea what it is?

I don't see any bruising to suggest she may have injured it, so it might be an infection. Is there any open wound or bleeding? Can't see that there is. I think I'd put some Polysporin in the inflamed area and watch to see if it calms down. If you don't see any change in a few days or the patch seems to be expanding, the topical is not getting to the source of the problem. Definitely take her to a herp vet.

there is not open wound or bleeding. I will try the topical like you suggested and get back to you. thanks for the help
