I never have that many...if you are only dealing with a small number of animals, I don't know that you need to. I keep mine in a little plastic terrarium...

Fan pulling air out of bin and a screen opening at the other end of the bin. Keeps fresh air in the bin. This keeps the crickets alive.... crickets die from the smell of crickets and dead crickets, the more the bin smells the faster they die and it spins out of control.

I am a wimp. I bought cricket display cases from Armstrong cricket. They are spendy but crickets don't die or get out. Same as the rest of the world, use eggs grate & gutload.

We bought one of those cricket keeper things. We can go to petstore weekly on weekends to get more.
We bought like 50 last weekend and that is WAY too many, esp. when we are going to start using superworms as well.

We have 1 cham and 1 baby pacman frog.

I am thinking that we need to take out 2 of the 4 tubes so it is easier to access the inside and remove dead crickets and feed them.

We were going to do the tub with screen but at this point, we do not need that many crickets.

At some point we may decide to do it differently.

What do you guys keep your crickets in? Give lots of details... and ideas?

A really big bucket, with a lid. The lid has a hole cut out (drilled out actually) with metal screen affixed to cover the hole. If I was keeping thousands, I'd increase the ventilation with a screened hole on the side as well.

I'm using a tub exactly like Summoner's minus the badass venilation. I don't use any lid and I use egg crates a couple tubes. I feed them cricket crack and veggies and water with water pillows. I use no lid and this works really well for me I had crickets from Petsmart last me 4 weeks. I usually buy in bulk to get the sizes my babies need and this is the only way to keep 500 at a time alive for any amount of time.

the best one i have heard is the big plastic storage tubs you can get from walmart for like $15, i got one recently and used a dremel to cut holes and duct tapes screening to the underside of the lid. screenings cheap as well and this is good for larger amounts of crickets, i have 1500 adults in a cage for mating and 1000 in another one for feeding my 4 month old panther cross. this one has smaller crickets and im using a smaller storage bin but it all works well, just make sure you have enough room for larger amounts of crickets so the stacks of egg crate isnt high enough so they can jump ouyt when its opened. other than that it should be fine, thats what cricket warms sell as a cricket container and what pet stores use to house their crickets as well.

I keep mine in the exact same thing basically. The most I usually have on hand is 30.

I forgot to mention that I do toss egg crate in...I tear it into single egg cups and put them so the open end is on the floor of the bin. When I need crickets, I just pick up an egg cup and shake it into a bag.

I like that idea! Hubby tore ours into sections of 4 cups and then the food dish and 4 tubes..... makes it hard to get in there to clean. Hmmm, maybe remove the tubes and switch to single cups.....
