The holes in the center are pretty big, probably about 3/4" or more, if the water gets to them then the water has no problem going through, it's just getting the water to flow to the center that i'm struggling with. I might hit up my local Tap Plastics and make some kind of platform that ramps down to the center from all four edges.

I've got a whole mess of screen I can use for the bottom, I just want to get the holes working before I put on the screen.

Don't over engineer a simple solution.

Putting a heavy plant in the middle or near the middle of a thin PVC board will cause the thing to bow in the middle.

Gravity will take care of your problem. No need for any vaccum, expensive, custom pieces.

If the plant doesn't weigh enough, try a heavy clay or bonsai pot.

I see no reason why this wouldn't work. It does for lots of other keepers on here.

I don't know if anyone has tried this, but I had the thought that a person could put a piece of yarn around the outside edge of the bottom of their container, leaving a tail that would lead into a bucket. Capillary effect could take the water from any one point on its course to the direction of least resistance, which would be the tail leading into the bucket. It would be super-compact and cost about 2 dollars.

Yeah that's my problems, I have a small ficus (pictured in page 2) with about 10lbs of rock and water around the outer perimeter just sits there.

I had the same problem you have right now. I had small 1/4'' holes all over the bottom of my enclosure (which is made out of 1/4'' plexiglass). I cut small grooves around each hole (looks like a sun from above). The grooves cover most of the bottom such that when water falls in the groove it goes straight down the drain. I'll add pics if you want.
