Trouble with shedding

My boy Ryu started shedding the day before yesterday (actually I could see a couple of spots of cracking skin the day before that, but 2 days ago was when he went into full shed)

Normally he sheds pretty much completely in one day with maybe a little bit left on his tail or feet that he finishes up the following day.

This time he shed his head and most of his body the first day. His belly and front legs/feet the second day. Today is day three now and he still has white skin on his back toes and his entire tail is white but not even starting to crack.

He always gets multiple mistings daily (via mistking system) and I've been giving him extra long misting with warm water since he started shedding. He's a veiled and just over 5 months old now. Any suggestions?

I'd rather not give him a shower if I don't have to because he's kind of hateful and doesn't like to be handled or removed from his enclosure.

Then its not a big deal. as they age it takes them longer to shed.

so long as you mist regularly, and you ensure your humidity isnt too low, the skin will come off when ready.

Oh I was going to suggest to give a shower,but you just wrote the issue with that!
But I still would give at least once a day! Mine tries to climb out of the shower (she is on my hand/arms all the time)but the last time you know what happened: she settled down on my hand and just waited. She gave up.
So it could help and rather make him grumpy a little,than have a skin issue...

I remember reading that they start to shed in sections as they get older, I just wasn't sure if he was old enough for the longer shed time to be normal. It's tough when the little guys start growing up, lol.

I was mainly concerned because I know (at least with sinks) if their toes don't fully shed, over time it causes circulation issues and the toes become necrotic and fall off.

Haha, thanks. That is very true, if need be I'll make him mad at me and give him a shower.
