trouble getting female veiled to lay eggs ??

i have a female veiled that i think needs to lay eggs, i have the proper container in her habitat,its filled w sand ,i made it moist to lay eggs for digging,but it dries quick,she hasnt used it, any other ideas ? soil / ect , i dont wanna lose her,she is not eating ,even hand feed wont eat ? thanks

If you have the same very moist all the way down to the bottom it shouldn't be drying out quickly. Make sure that you can make a sand ball with the sand. If it doesn't hold together for you it won't hold together for her when she tries to make a tunnel.

i drenched it, 2 days later its dry,im getting worried she is eggbound,i cant afford expensive xrays and such ?

am actualy having the same kinda problem with my's but i recomend something better than sand, some people even mix it up and also have somekinda branch or tree inside the buckets and make some hole's already inside so it gives her a pushh

How big and deep is your laying bin? We put ours in a month ago and it's still moist enough for tunnelling. It's just sand as well.

Take out your bin and remove the sand. Put some in, dampen it well, put some more in, dampen it , etc. Just dampening the top isn't enough. My bins stay damp for for several weeks under the top . The top gets damp by my spraying. How deep is your laying bin?

I recommend you both try the large trash can method. Late in the afternoon or early evening put them in with no way out and LEAVE THEM ALONE for a couple of hours and see if they get interested in digging and laying. ok i switched it to coconut fiber and a touch of sand,very good for digging,stays damp ,what do you think,its also at least 10 or so inches deep, a large pot for planting
