I got a fake orchard today for Trixxi's viv as i thought it could do with some colour, although saying that she hasn't moved from her vine since i put it in,i think she may be a little freaked out by the colour of it!...can Chams see colour clearly?

I cant comment on their ability to see colours but i know Peanut seems to have a disliking for people wearing blue tops

Chameleons are able to see color. This helps them tell them who is available or not by what color is being shown.

Lol, Ronnie! I had a fake carnation stem in Amy's cage but she decided she'd taste it, so it was removed pretty sharpish! I cleaned Amy's cage today and set up a dripper catching thingy under a flowerpot (I'm a genius, lol)! There was a gap at the front of the cage so I put in the lovely colourful Croton that I bought at Sainsbury's. Well, I think she's scared of that too - she sits on the vine opposite giving it the evils, lol! She's also not happy as I took out her almost leafless umbrella plant and replaced it with a new one! She's not a happy bunny, bless her!

Amy hates red things, so maybe it's the red leaves she doesn't like! My hubby was wearing a red t shirt the other day and every time he walked past her viv she would run and hide! She also has a dislike of the cerise blouse that I sometimes wear to work!

That green bendy wire is excellent stuff - it has so many uses, lol!

That's so strange as Trixxi seems to really dislike red also!!i have a red cardigan thing that i have to take off before i go into her room(yes...that's right...it's now called Trixxi's room!no longer a sitting room, lol!!)otherwise she ducks down behind her vines!Hope she doesn't try to take a bite out of the fake orchid!although saying that at this moment in time she wont even make eye contact with it:rolleyes:Yep...green bendy wire very handy and only a £ from poundstretcher!!

My veiled gets grumpy when I wear a dark and light green striped top, he also doesn't seem to be fond of blues.

My most approachable color is definitely dark brown while wearing dark sunglasses so he cant see my eyes.

I've seen many reports of chams not liking red (Thaxter seems completely nonchalant about it). As for their seeing color - not only can they see it, but they can see more than we can, being able to see into the ultraviolet. Their eyes are packed full of cones (the color-detecting organs), but they lack rods (the low light sensitive organs), and consequently have little or no night vision.

In my past experiences with other creatures, I have avoided sunglasses because it makes my eyes bigger  I do avoid direct eye contact as well. Interesting that yours does this.
