yes i did and my 2.5 month old veiled puffed up and started hissing and lunged and bit my finger. any suggestions?

Get a chop stick and cut the top so that it can separate slightly. Stick a cricket's leg in the separated part, not too tight, but just tight enough. Hold the stick out to your cham and see if he'll eat it. If he doesn't starve him for the first half of the day and try again later that day. He should eat from it when he's hungry. Every couple of days move your hand up the chopstick a little so he gets used to your hand by his food. Eventually you can eliminate the chopstick all together. Thats what I did!

EDIT: Be very, very, very still. Your arm may get tired, but don't give up!

true. i gave up because my cham just gets pissed. i'd rather my pet be happy than hand fed. also if it gets used to it like my bearded dragon. it will only take hand feedings.( spoiled bastard)

The first thing my Chameleon ate at my house was out of my hand. Just let him gain your trust very slowly

if you were close enough for him to lunge and bit your finger it hink you were a little too close... i usually stay about as far away from reptar as i think he can shoot cuz its funner to watch them shoot then it is to watch them just gobble

Hold the cricket by one leg. It's movement will alert your cham. Make sure not to move your hand or your body.

Good advice!!!

Listen, your cham can shoot his tongue pretty far. I've seen a six month old veiled shoot over 8 inches.!!!

So with that said, if you get close enough for him to feel the need to lunge at you, then you are too close! Try backing off a bit. It can take a just a couple of tries to well over a month+++++ to get him to feed from you. Don't give up hope, and most important don't push him towards doing it. Doing so will only stress him more and make him resent/hate you even more. Just be patient!

So it was pretty funny i got a pair of tweezers and picked up a worm and was gonna put it by the vine he was sitting on and i was about 6 inches away and he just shot his tongue out and got the worm i was pretty surprised and excited all at once
