Chances are he didn't hurt himself in that short of a fall. He might have been trying to cool off by staying near the floor. I would not handle him as often especially as he is still trying to settle into a new situation. If he's showing a brighter color while you are handling him its not because he likes it, its a sign of stress. Too much will catch up to him over time.

Your supplement dusting schedule is off a bit. Montane cham species such as Jax are more sensitive to some vitamins. He should be getting a light dusting of plain calcium (no added vitamin D3) daily, dusting with calcium with added vit. D3 about once a month, and dusting with a herp multivitamin about once a month to 6 weeks.

There are better gutloads available. Be aware that spinach makes dietary calcium less available. I would not use it in your gutload. Other salad greens instead.

I would use kale instead of spinach for your crickets. Also, sweet potatoes are good for gutloading your insects.

Also, as previously mentioned, try not to handle your cham too much as he gets acclimated to his new home.

Good looking Jacksons!!!

Kale is high in oxalates also so can have the same effect as spinach. You can use it but rotate it with other greens like collard and mustard greens.

Trident was down at the bottom of his cage today when I came home for lunch.
He was working his way up the screen cage as I walked in. Kind of wondering if he sees the superworms at the bottom and goes to eat them or he is falling since he still getting use to his enclosure.
Overall he doesn't seem to be sleeping in the day, no sunken eyes, appetite seems to be small but he is adjusting still.
I'm a littke worried

For gutloading/feeding crickets, superworms, roaches, locusts you can use a wide variety of greens such as dandelions, mustard greens, collards, kale, endive, escarole, etc. and veggies such as squash, carrots, sweet potato, sweet red pepper, zucchini, etc. Romaine lettuce sparingly gives them moisture but go easy on things like spinach and cabbage, brussel sprouts and other oxalate containing veggies.

Sometimes they don't know how to get off the bottom and get stuck down there. Try putting a lot of twigs and things to make it easy for him to find his way up.

I still doubt he's falling, but he may be exploring and seeking a way out by going to "the ground".
