Trice climbed up on my bun and feel asleep

THANK YOU guys so much for helping me

That's why we're all here my dear, I've been into keeping chams for over a year now and only a month ago found this place. Needless to say with the app for my phone I'm on here 24/7 now..every once in awhile you will find a heated argument over a debate but 99.9% of the time everyone on here is pretty cool. If you ask a question wait till you get a few responses from different people until a general consensus is reached, is a good way to learn from here. Sometimes a person can word something that gets misunderstood so don't always take things to heart if you read a post the wrong way. But glad your here your gona have a blast meeting people and learning!!

My husband told me to come to this forum. he is on a car forum for supra's he thought this would be a good way for me to learn about chameleons and i have become addict to this forum lol like he is with his forum

Oh no I'm so sorry! Now that your giving him extra attention he should bounce back, just need a lil recovery time. Did you try putting him in a shallow bath water? I've seen people do that before to get em drink more and to make em go to the bathroom

Me too :( But he seems to be bouncing back at least a little, I have been doing the baths, but held of yesterday bc I spoke to his breeder and he said to give him less bathes since im force feeding/drinking him. Gave him a bath today and he played a little, and he opened his eyes!!! His belly isnt as skinny now. He's shedding too, poor darling is having a bad week :( Going to check on him now, hopefully he moved!!

I'd make a vet appointment to have him checked out, it is strange that he'll go to sleep during the day while out of his cage. That's not normal at all

now i'm starting to wonder if the only reason why he wanted to sell him because he was sick and didnt want to pay for it i am going to be finding a vet today. If i find out he knew he was sick and did tell me im going to be this guys worst nightmare i would have still bought him but he would have been to a vet the day i bought him!!!

Sleeping in the day is not a good sign at all and means that something is wrong. They will, however, just close their eyes briefly if they don't like what you are doing to/with them. My first female went from closing her eyes in the day to dead within the space of 5 days, so mine always get whisked straight to the vets at anything that is even slightly out of the norm for them. I would suggest a vet visit too, although it may be more of a case of mouth rot - the Temporal gland is right in the corner of the mouth where it 'hinges', and that part of his mouth on the left side looks ok to me. It can become infected when a small piece of feeder gets stuck in there. Not all chams have the Temporal glands, but Jacksons are one species that do. I believe Melleri also have them.

Good luck with him - I really love Jacksons - mine just had his first birthday yesterday! They are truly wonderful and gentle chameleons!

Some store owners especially big corporate chain stores will sell a sick animal just so they don't have to pay for a vet visit. But at least trice went to a good home with people who care about him. Don't get too stressed just make an appointment ASAP to find out what could be the problem.
