Tree

I was looking online for a tree for Yoda since he seems like he wants to come out and free range. Fake trees are way out of my price range and real ones don't seem to be in stock anywhere around here. I do have a 4ft artificial Christmas tree that I haven't used in a long time. Is this ok for him until I can save money or find a real tree?

Not sure what your price range is but Home Depot should have hibiscus trees right now. Here in NJ we have nurserys everywhere and they seem to have ficus which is like 50 a tree and the same hibiscus trees at Home Depot for 40. This would also help on shipping.

4 ft camellia bushes work great too though they have been harder for me to come by so I don't know if you will have the same problem

I wouldnt get a ficus. I bought one. It died lol. They are fickle things :/ Get 2 hibiscus and rotate them :)

What do you mean, ficus do great as long as you keep them watered/in good lighting. That's probably your problem with the last one. The only thing about ficus is the price can very a LOT. Like $30 for a six inch plants and $10 for a 3 foot plant, its weird.

My two ficus are doing really well outside right now but i do not have them in an enclosure.

you are probably right. I have a grow bulb and only recently realized that it's a t8 and i need a t5. I paid $25 for a 4 foot tall ficus from Lowe's so if you have one local you might try there also. I ended up buying a massive pothos centerpiece and have been happy with it, i dont have the money for a good t5 and i want to get an arcadia next :p

I would go with a ficus or schefflera. I live in North Texas so we should have close to the same options. Most off all the plants sold in Home Depot for Oklahoma and Texas come from Seville Farms. Remember, ficus trees can and will literally drop all their leaves when undergoing a significant move. This is just a mechanism used by the tree for water retention. The tree is still very much alive and will re-sprout new leaves very quickly. Schefflera are one of my favorites because they naturally want to grow vertical as opposed to spreading out candelabra style. So you can manipulate the growth individually per stem and create very neat horizontal resting areas for your chameleon. My Meller's Chameleons love Schefflera.

I second the ficus advice. I got a lovely 3ft one with braided stems from Home Depot. I have a grow light and obviously it's misted twice a day, but literally every single leaf fell off. It took a couple of months to get its mojo back, but now I'm having to prune it because it's blocking light to the pothos.

Can you tell me what kind of plant this is? My moms at s grocery store and they have these but they aren't labeled and no one there seems to know what they are

I think that is a Schefflera arboricola which is a good one but i am not an expert on plants

You should check out some of Jannb's free ranges. She's very creative and not all of them are live plants. My free range consists of Pothos plants that hang from the ceiling and branches from outside. They hang from a cheap heavy duty curtain rod that instead of mounted on the wall for curtains it's mounted on the ceiling so I can hang the plants. The branches are attached with zip ties. I have canister lights to hold UVB compacts and heat bulbs. If you're not comfortable with that you can always mount a strip light for UVB. I had to go up because I didn't have any floor space. Which works well because my Cham can't get down. The free range is in the kitchen/dining room. It looks quite pretty and most people don't realize there is a Cham there unless they really look or we tell them.

You will need extra like for the hibiscus. They don't seem to do well inside unless they have a 6500K on them. You could always put them outside as well when they're not in use in the free range
