Traveling

I purchased a ambilobe panther today and tomorrow he is in for a long about 4 hour car ride (with various breaks including one to stop for food) so here's my question should I transport him home in the little box he came in or his cage and also more important WHEN SHOULD I FEED HIM I have no idea if I should feed him at the break or before the car ride and HOW SHOULD I KEEP THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY UP OR WILL HE BE FINE FOR A FEW HOURS.

Thank you So much for your help

When I purchased my Panther, the breeder gave me a small cage to put him in, and we kept him covered to reduce stress. When I got him home (3 hour drive), I set up his new cage and he went right in. I misted the cage and he got a few hours to chill. That night I gave him some crickets and he ate right away.

I've heard it's best to keep them in their cage, just cover it up (that way they are familiar with their surroundings) and the cover keeps the stress down. He should be fine for a few hours, without heat/light, but I would pay attention the the temperature in the car if you are using A/C.

Most chameleons like to eat in the morning so feed him then, keep him on his 'regular schedule' of feeding and misting, aside from when you are traveling. Then when you get to your destination, pick up your regular schedule again :)

Hope this helps!
