Traveling?

What do you guys do when traveling with your chameleons? Just curious as to what the best thing to do is. I have seen people just put small plants in the front seat and let them roam? Ive also seen people just putting them in cardboard boxes with a branch?

It will depend in how long the trip is and purpose (a trip to the vet versus a multi-day vacation)

For short trips...a local move, vet appt, etc. A cardboard box with a stick wedged inside for the cham to hang on to. A damp paper towel in the bottom for humidity. Watch the temps in the car.

For a longer trip you could set up a small cage such as a Reptarium with branches, fake foliage, and use a towel or sheet to block view of motion (some chams get anxious with too much of a view of the moving scenery). Again, watch the temps in your car.

When I was thinking about this, I would have thought this would be a bad idea, giving the cham an opportunity to fall and get hurt??

You are a more experienced keeper by far, I am not trying to question your advise, I was just curious is all.

A healthy cham shouldn't get hurt falling from such a small height. When I suggested a Reptarium, I meant a smaller sized one that would fit on a car seat easily. If you were worried about tight turns or sudden braking, just use a cord to attach the cage to the seat. And, the bottom of these are soft, especially if you set the cage in their flex tray.
