For spring break I plan on going home to see the fam and not anything crazy. But it's about a 2.5 hour drive. What would be the best way to travel with my jackson cham to be safe and limit the stress?

I heard in a dark box with a stick through it so he could sleep but I just wanted to learn more about it or hear other ideas that have worked. Thanks!

I recently received my Veiled that came from FL and arrived in NV. Long journey for a little guy, but he was "packaged" in a little plastic container gently wrapped in a warm paper towel. He was also inside a Styrofoam box that had paper around the little container to limit movement. This process seemed to work because when I opened his little package up, he was completely green and didn't show any stress signs at all. I immediately put him in his enclosure to find him completely active with an amazing appetite.

What I was told from the breeder is that when lights are out they sleep the whole ride which in turn dismisses stress. I don't know if this is true completely, but it seemed to work for my little guy.

Hope this helped.

I don't like using a stick just in case they get hurt/bruised by it. I've actually read a thread where a chameleon managed to dislocate a leg while in a travel box with a stick in it. I just pop a small towel/fabric in a box and close it so that no light gets in. I make sure that the towel can't slide around though. I let the box sit still for a while before I have to leave so that the chameleon falls asleep. I've had a few that wouldn't sleep while the box was moving around in the car.

Thanks for the replies! And that was the link I was lookin for just couldn't find it! And I might still do that. I'll be holding him so he won't be jerk around or anything and should avoid any injuries.
