I’m no expert on the specific things that may be transferred…but I do know a few to be careful of. I’ll list them further down. Also, in over 30 years of keeping reptiles, I have always been careful about transmission of diseases through good hygiene…and I don’t think I ever got anything from a reptile or the odd amphibian I’ve had…and I don’t think any of the critters have developed anything from any type of transfer ei5er.
Good hygiene goes a long way towards preventing transfer of diseases/illnesses between animals and people and between different species…so I recommend practicing good hygiene. Wash hands frequently, don’t use the same “tools” from one cage to another without properly disinfecting them, etc.
In addition to this, many of the bacteria, viruses, etc are species specific…meaning that only that species will get a bacteria, etc …it won’t affect a different species.
There are a number of bacteria that are possible to be transferred not only from animal to animal but from the reptiles, etc to people… Aeromonas, Klebsiella, Salmonella…to name a few.
Ranaviruses, Mycobacterium might be transferable…not certain.
Are you concerned that the “disease” could be transferred to the insect container, etc or through the insects?
