Transitioning to new enclosure

My baby Diego is no longer a baby and needs and enclosure upgrade. He was only about 3 to 5 inches when I got him and eating very small horn worms and pinhead crickets and my 18x 12x 20 enclosure was just perfect for him. I knew I'd have to upgrade in a matter of months and it is definitely time. He's a big boy now, about the size of my hand and needs more room asap. I bought him a 16x16x36 enclosure yesterday and have it about half set up, there is more room I this one for sure so I'm going to lowes shortly to pick up a nice tall plant and some branches to climb on. My main concern here is the transition. I don't want to stress him out but I need to get him and some of his belongings into his new home. I thought about sneaking a few things out and creating a bridge between the two enclosures to let him kind of wander into the new place. He's not the fondest of being touched so with the stress of the move I don't want to stress him out more by getting him to climb on me then Transferring him. Suggestions on the best and least stressful way we can make this happen?

Wow! Sounds great! Maybe you can help lure him with some of his favorite tasty snacks as well. If he is distracted by his favorites at feeding time, them maybe he wouldn't notice the change as much? Chameleons love to hunt so maybe some black soldier flies/blue bottle flies buzzing around in the new cage will be a distraction as well. If he goes nuts over them like our chameleons do, then at least his first experience will be a positive one :)
