Too much UVB

I have i male jackson that is just over three and a half months old. He is in a cage that is 2'x2'x4'. I know this cage is big for a young guy but i did not have enough money to build a smaller cage then, a few months later build his permanent cage. So he has his permanent cage now. He seems to be loving it he has been in it now since he was three months old.

I am worried that i might be giving him to much UVB light. He has 2 18" tubes one being a 5.0 and the other one being a super UV? I am pretty sure that the super UV is a 2.0 or a 5.0 but i am not a 100% sure. (it came with the slim line light fixture)

Is this too much for him?

Because the cage is big i wanted to make sure he had enough UVB light. There is plenty of shade in the cage but he likes to hang out on the top half of the cage where there is not much shade.

Here are some pics so you can see the cage, and the little guy himself, meet twitch:)

Your cage looks great and I would not worry a bit about too much UVB-especially with dark meshed Reptariums. The slimline bulb is supposed to be 7% UVB but I do not hear that it is even that good. I wouldn't change a thing-great setup! :)

Heya Vince,

one 5.0 uvb linear tube and 2.0 linear will be fine.
Honestly, though, I would probably not use the 2.0 to save electricity.

Howdy Vince,

So long as he is able to get within 6"-12" of a ZooMed Reptisun 5.0 18" tube during daylight hours, he will be ok. If you can give him some hours per week of unfiltered sunlight, all the better :).

yup i all ready have a out side enclosure for him. I live in Marquette MI in the winter, going to school. So cant really let him out now but he will get his sun in the summer.:D
