Too Cute!

I took Igor (baby veiled) outside for the first time today. He got all fired up (lots of dark green stripes and spots, and pretty blue in the creases under his throat, beautiful) and was hissing at me but liked it once he got there out in the sun. Then he tried to make a break for it down my leg into the grass. Good thing he's not faster then me 'cuz he's so little. Hee Hee. When he gets big, is he going to be able to outrun me? Just wondering, but I think I'll make him an outside enclosure for when he's some bigger. He REALLY didn't like my red nail polish when he noticed it, and hissed and struck at it kinda fakey-like trying to scare it off. LOL So we stayed out for about 15 minutes or so in partial sun/shade, he started panting in the direct sun. Must have been too hot for him, I figure. Just thought I'd share...so cute, baby's first outing.

He will be slower when older.......at least my guys are. Just be careful when outside.......I see post on here all the time where the cham escaped.

He shouldn't be able to outrun you, but never turn your back on him (I second jannb's "be careful"). When my guy has had his fill of basking, he likes to walk down the sidewalk (probably because a walk in the grass is no fun when the grass is as tall as you are), and I walk along a few steps behind him. It's a slow stroll. But he can take off briskly if he has a destination in mind, and if the moment you happen to not be paying attention is the moment he decides to go under the car or into a bush, you may lose him.

Hehe! They can run like the clappers when they are tiny, lol! :D Amy is the same, although she is calming down a bit now she's getting bigger. I was used to Lily who, as an adult, didn't move very fast at all, so Amy was a bit of a shock for me! I didn't realise how fast they can run when they want to, lol!:D

I know, that's why he's going to get an outdoor enclosure. I had him on me and a stick I was holding. I guess the leg looked like a way out. He certainly seemed to enjoy it, tho. He's just trying to be a little bad ass. How goofy he looks all puffy and hissing, but I guess it won't be so funny when he's big........

I'd love to see that:D
