Too big?

so I'm building Ashi and Yoyo an outside enclosure(formally an old chicken coop). I've patched up all the holes, leveled out the ground, now all I gotta do is put the carpet down and put the plants in and set up the mist system. However, when I took Ashi out to check it out, I'm a little worried. Do you think she can get through the wire? I know Yoyo can't because of his huge casque, but hers is a lil bit smaller.

I wouldn't want her to give it a try. If you come out and find her mangled in the wire, or caught up in it... If it were me, I wouldn't chance it.

I would consider wrapping the outside with aluminum screening. This will keep them and their feeders safely inside and they can use the chicken wire for climbing and exploring.

This is what we used for our indoor. The plastic coop "wire" is on the inside so it is easy for our cham to hold and the charcoal screen is on the outside to prevent feeders from from getting out. Might work for an outdoor enclosure as well and be a little safer for your little ones.

I would do as suggested above and wrap it with screen. Along with keeping the cham and feeders in the enclosure, it will also prevent any unwanted visitors from getting in to visit the cham in not so friendly ways. I don't know about where you are located but here in NJ we have several different species of snakes that would make a quick meal out of a chameleon.

I live in Southern Oregon, we have a few rattlesnakes and some Garters. My chams can definitely get out of it, Yoyo crawled right through it! I carpeted the bottom of it and put a plant in there, so for sure I need wrap it in a smaller wire. I'll post pictures when I finish
