Too Big of a Cage?

Is there such a thing as too big of a cage? I just assembled a 24x24x48 inch screen sided cage. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it. I shouldn't trust myself when it comes to eyeballing things as it's obvious I didn't know how big 48 inches actually is. Is the biggest cage I can get the best way to go? The oldest cham I have is just 5 months old so I shouldn't put it in there, right? TIA

Cage size is your preference. However I with a couple of others believe you can never have to big of a cage.

For a good grow up cage something smaller probably is appropriate.

I agree, you can never provide too much space in my opinion. I've had 3 month olds free ranging on a 10' x 10' screened in lanai covered in plants and trees, and he still grew and thrived. Imagine how big their natural jungles are and they still manage to do very well, so a little 24" x 48" cage is nothing to them. If it still worries you that he won't find his food you can try cup feeding him by putting a container with crickets and other insects in there for him and he will eventually figure out to eat from it. This way you know he's still eating well. But mine have never had problems finding they food loose in the cage either.
