Todd is moving to CA-so.....

Hope you don't want to actually use that chair in the corner, Julie; looks like a bit of a battle to get there!
I've always thought if I moved any considerable distance, I'd have the beasties shipped once I got there; good to see that's a doable plan.

Well I made it here a few days ago. I stopped off at Death Valley on the way to Yosemite. I took a few pics and thought I would share.

Here is a lizard that I found in the desert. I have no idea what it is could someone identify?

See Ya,

Todd

holy smokes! great pics dude!

My GF's family is going to yosemite this summer.. she really wants to go with... we'll see.....

Do it! It can get hot there during the day, but at night it always cools off... Just stay in the shade during the day and you are good to go... They were doing a prescribed burn when I was there making most of my photos hazy... I didn't get a good pic of some the cool stuff there. I had a bear encounter but it was a pleasant one this time. I was hiking up from my campsite first thing in the morning and heard loud ripping noises coming from down the trail a ways and I walked up to find a young brown bear ripping bark off of some fallen trees and eating insects, im guessing termites.

The lizard looks like an anole.

I actually identified it as a Aspidoscelis tigris tigris :http://www.californiaherps.com/lizards/pages/a.t.tigris.html

See ya,

Todd

Soo, you've been through the desert on a horse with no tail? :D

(sorry, couldn't help myself).

For you Floridians, those big lumps in the background are called Moutains...can you say Mouuuu Tannnnss....sure, I knew you could. :D

Welcome to God's Country Todd...The West is the Best.

OK-I just packed up Todd's crew and bagged and boxed them up for the trip to CA. There is nothing quite like the sight of a bagged Mellers pushing up the lid of the shipping box (that I had not taped closed yet) on the drive back to work! I am not sure Todd is any more stressed than I was boxing these guys up! :)

when I here 'gods country' I think of U2's 'in gods coutry' from the rattle and hum tour (The Joshua tree album). Love that song.

"desert rose I dreamt I saw a desert rose. Dressed tall in ribbons and bows. Like a siren she called to me.... Sleep comes like a drug in gods county.

Sad eyes and crooked Crosses in gods country.... Yeeeaaa yeeeaaaahhh"

 :p
