to Panther owners

Heya guys,
I was wondering, in the case of veileds eating dirt is quite common.
Does any of your panther also exhibit the same idiosyncrasies?
Or is this behavior is strictly veileds?

best not to let them do it
there is a chance of it causing an impaction

give them more feeders and add some edible leaves to their cage
so that them can nibble on those.

I've made a habit of adding Fo Ti ( Polygonum multiflorum) foliage to all my veiled cages
it's all around healthy and they love to snack on it.

It doesn't hurt veileds one bit to eat some dirt (as long as you have taken precautions to make sure the soil in the enclosure is safe).
However, the actual question was ... do Panthers do it too?
Sorry Dodolah, I can't say for sure (as you know I don't keep Panther chameleons) but, I wouldn't be worried if they did.

Yes, panther sure do shoot for dirt as well. I honestly believe they do it because they are lacking something in their diet that they need. I put nice fresh topsoil in my plants for that reason. It hasn't affect any one of my chameleons. They don't do it often though.

I only have 1 veiled that does that. None of my panthers do it. But isn't it just the veiled that eat vegetagian too? Maybe they are the wilder ones of the 2. You know, i'll try anything once. lol.

I have several Panthers and only one eats dirt. He also has vision problems , that would suggest a nutritional deficiency. Whats perplexing is that all my Panthers are fed and supplemented the same , but only one has this issue.
