Tips on hibiscus

Hey, so I'm currently preparing an enclosure for my chameleon to come in August. I really want a hibiscus that will grow to be 1.5 or so feet tall. I have an Arcadia Jungle Dawn and all other appropriate lighting for chameleon but I've heard that Hibiscus do well with fertilizer? Is it safe to use a certain fertilizer for my hibiscus. Any other pieces of advice on growing a healthy hibiscus?

Also, my cage is semi-bioactive. It has all the bioactive elements, except the plants are placed in confined pots in the soil so their roots don't get tangled, and so I can replace plants if need be without harming the others.

Thank you!

What I use for fertilizer is the frass from my insects…silkworms mainly, although I have also used frass from superworms. I have a hibiscus in one of my enclosures and up until she’s gotten old, the biggest threat to its health was being eaten to the nub by my veiled girl. Also, I accidentally discovered that they like a lot of water. My hibiscus was existing ok and then took a huge leap in growth. Then I found the leak in the misting tubing directly above it, which was almost flooding the enclosure. While it’s now thriving, it still isn’t blooming that I can see. It is possible that my girl is eating the flowers as soon as they form a bud. The plant has gotten a bit dense since the water leak.
The one huge piece of advice I have regarding hibiscus is to blast all the soil off down to the bare roots, and then continue to make sure you’ve cleared every last spot that a bug could hide.
