Tips on hand feeding.

Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone has tips on getting your cham to eat from your hand I've owned my panther for about 2 weeks now and have done multiple attempts to get her to eat from the cup while its in my hand and still no success.

Any tips or guides would be great! She's a sweet little girl and would love to get her more friendly with me. :)

You just have to be slow and patient. It takes some time and at first you might have to hold your hand there for several minutes. Try using worms that you can put on your hand and just hold your hand there forever until it gets tired.

Your thread title confused me. Are you trying to handfeed or cup feed? From my experience hand feeding is easier than cup feeding as there is more of a focus for the Cham. Depending on the feeder and their appetite, they might snatch it off you fingers. If you want to continue with the cup feeding, you might create a fixture for the cup as it might take a while for the cham to sort out a single specimen to focus on (they are not Einstein after all).

It just takes time. It took me 5 months to get my female Cham to hand feed. But my male let me hand feed him at 2 months. Its different with every Cham. But it just takes time.

I've had my little Koopa for 6 days now, and he ate from my hand the first day I got him. He's about 4 months old. Here's what I did:

-grab a cricket, rip of one of it's hind legs (i know, poor guy), the let it sit in your hand as he now can't hope off. Offer it to your cham with your hand open. The cricket will fidget and move around in your hand, and it's pretty tough for the cham to resist (at least for my guy it was).

now, it doesn't work everytime, but i've hand-fed him like this about 5 times since I've had him. Sometimes he just stares at it and doesn't do anything, and sometimes he snatches it up without hesitation.

Try it out and let me know how it works out!
