Three things about Antwan that worry me…

There are a couple things that worry me with Antwan.
Firstly, he has a couple times stayed in his sleep position for the whole day and not ventured out of his hibiscus plant. Any reason why he would do this?
Secondly he seems to really want to come out and perch on me. Most times when I open his tank he comes quite quickly to get on me. I’ve read this is not normal and there could be not a good reason why he does this.
And the last thing is that not only is he a real picky eater, but he also doesn’t eat much at all. But his body condition looks good to me. Should I be worried?

His tank stays about 23 ambient during the day with approximately 50% humidity. Basking area is 30 C
Night temps are 15-17 C with 90-100% humidity.

Chameleons are sometimes sensitive to the weather we're experiencing. Mine have started to go to sleep sooner, due to the beginning of winter in Canada. Although I try and control their environment, they just seem to know.

Some call this a chameleon "funk", and Panthers are even known to dull in color!

How old is Antwan? How much and how often do you feed him? He might be getting old enough that you can start to reduce his feeding schedule.

Antwan looks great, I'm super happy to see an update from you! 💕

Hi. Antwan looks good and I love his enclosure. Was there maybe something that spooked him before he stayed in his sleep spot?
One of my boys will come running as soon as he sees me open his door…usually. Often it’s difficult to put his bugs in his feeding station because he’s climbed on my hands immediately. Then it can be a challenge to get him off my hands. He is my second panther like this. I have looked and looked and looked again and again for there to be some reason for this…something wrong or off in the enclosure, something wrong with the view, anything and everything and there is nothing at all that he might be trying to escape from. There is no reward with a yummy treat which might reinforce this behaviour. He seems to just enjoy sitting on my hands immediately or arm. 🤷‍♀️ My other boy who did this took it even further. When I was sitting on the floor in the room he was in, he climbed as low as he could nearest to me and on occasion he scraped his scales off his head/casque while squeezing into the tiny space between his root pouch and screen. He’d even get stuck there and I’d have to ‘save’ him.
My current friendly sweetheart will every now and then turn his behaviour around completely for no discernible reason. Yesterday morning he glued himself to my hands before I even fully opened his door. In the afternoon, he was eyeing me suspiciously and pretending to be part of a branch.
I have attempted to take my friendly guy outside for some fresh air and sunshine, but as soon as we leave the room, he freaks out and has thrown himself to the floor before. He then spent the rest of the day hiding and once even into the next day.
When I got this fella, he was a horrible picky eater. He had pinworms and once those were treated, he eats everything.

Thanks! Maybe that is the reason...maybe it's the sunlight difference as well? He has only done it twice and both days I was ready to haul him out of his plant and take him to the Vets lol I won't panic anymore! His hatch day was March this year. I still feed him everyday or try. He is still off crickets, so it's only black soldier fly larvae and the odd silk worm, horn worm (not more then once a week) one superworm maybe one every two to three days.(if he isn't eating the BSFL He does have black soldier flies in his tank almost all the time so he could be snacking on them. He seems to have a good covering over his ribs and his tail is nice and plump. I also bought some Dubia roaches and he won't touch them either. (ugh) Thanks for the input!

Thanks! Well this is good to know as everything I have read and listened to makes it seem like there is something wrong with his enclosure, otherwise he wouldn't be wanting to come out to me. I can take him anywhere in the house or out of the house and he stays on my head or shoulders. He seems oblivious to the cat and dogs...it's like he doesn't even see them. It's so interesting how their personalities differ with their likes and dislikes! I don't feed him from my hand either, just from his Starbucks cup lol Maybe our boys are brothers from another mother !! Thanks for the input!!

I dropped in to say two things

-chameleons will act in whatever way confuses their owners the most at our expense

-and I like your enclosure, well done.

That's super disappointing! Especially with all the hard work it takes to find/ship them. Hopefully you can get them to breed and maybe you can get some smaller ones he might like?

They sure like to keep us on our toes with love and worry lol!

It's great to see he's doing well, I hope you keep us updated as he grows!
