SNAIL!!! Ok, I went to mist and feed him this morning. Im wiping down his enclosure from any dead feeders, water, fecal etc! I get to this little "swurly" looking thing and my heart dropped. It looked kinda like this...

I looked at him and he was looking at me like " thats not my tail!" Lol. SO I was like well thats a swurly turd! lol , then I noticed the head of the snail pop out! I was like Where the hell did that come from! Im sure it came from the plant i got in there. Honeslty I did not repot the soil but I did was it off quite well in the tub. I did a search and noticed that some people do feed these. Im not interested and dont plan feeing him those. I just need to know if I should be concerned about this. I am on a lookout for anymore BTW...

bump! Just want to know if I need to take any action on this. Im not thinking the plant is infested or anything....

Probably did come from the plant. Snails are intermediaries for a whole host of parasites, but I wouldn't worry about that. Sometime in the near future you're going to be taking a fecal, and probably the cham to the vet for a nice check up anyway.

I hear that some chams like snails for lunch!

Lol!
That cracked me up:p

Yeah you dont wnat to feed wild snails because of the parasite risk.
Ive only ever seen jacksons eat them, but I would just remove any that you find.

I would dig around in the dirt for more. If they are in there I dont think they will be very deep;)

Thanks for the replys guys, I jud didnt know where it came from. I have a water tray under the plant and he was not in the, unless he crawled out it. I dont think he ate or tried to eat it as I found it when I turned on his lights. I usually wake him up like that. I will be taking him to the vet once he gets a little bigger, maybe 6 months?

I would have had a heart attack if i thought my chams tail fell off! haha, Glad its only snails. I get that species of land snail all over my back yard, the birds love them and so does the dog! haha

thats too funny, yeah you can feed them but they can/will be full of parasites. i'd breed you own if you want to feed them ^^

lol not interested in feeding them I dont think he tried to eat it. I should have just poured some salt on him a watch him melt! lol

Mustard greens melt them quite nicely.
Found that out when I fed some to some snails I was going to breed.
Next day I checked on them and they were liquid ;/
