So Mr. ester was stolen from my back porch. I hung signs w/ pictures everywhere offering a reward and stressing the fact that he has to have a certain enviroment and that he will die without it. I recieved several calls from people that had a lizard on there back porch and ran to the apartment only to find that it was a stupid anole( obviously if Mr Ester was anywhere around the anole would be eaten:D). I think to day it is sitting in that I probably wont get him back.......It completly sucks...And on top of losing the coolest most laid back cham EVER. My dad is delivering his brand new cage on Monday that we have been working on for well over a month now....GEESH.

Anybody that lets their chams sun outside please keep an out out for punk as little kids with No morals.

I plan on getting a new panther in the next month or so......I want to wait it out and make sure someone doesnt bring Mr Ester back. Im wondering what would be the best age to buy that I can put straight into the new cage. It is 3 feet wide 5 feet tall and 2 1/2 feet deep. Im not wanting to spend anymore than $500 with shipping included( id really like to spend less than that, so I can take it to get a well cham check up). Do yall think I could find a decent male Ambilobe or Ambanja for that amount? who would yall reccomend me buying one from. I would love to find one with purple baring becasue I just think It is so freaking cool looking.

i would call Vince at Screameleons. if he doesnt have it himself, im sure he could help you right away with soemthing. :]

Are you positive that he couldnt of escaped or was the whole cage and stuff stolen as well?

He didnt escape. They didnt take his cage just him.( the cage had 2 pots in it, one with a giant ivy thing, the other with a schefella. so it was heavy) The cage was completly closed there is NO way he could have escaped....unless he transported himself with his mind!!:p

Codi I am so sorry. I would be going door to door as it must be someone who knows that you put your cham on the back porch or knows you have one?

idealy around 8months for enclosure around that size, chad had some awsome panthers nosey be's and a few sambavas, probably sold them all by now.

check out tikitiki see what he gots, everytime i see his stock at the shows, he always gots something awsome.

I know alot of the kids know I have chams because they always come over to my patio when I was outside with them and ask to see Mr ester or hold him. I wouldnt ever let any of them hold him becasue I was afraid that they might get him sick. Im thinking that it has to be one of those kids.....I feel so bad that some 10 year old kid has him and isnt taking proper care of him( I know that an educated 10 year old could care for one, but these kids where not educated). I had my brother go down to the pool right by my patio after he realized that he was gone and he said none of them saw anything. I walked around my apartments asking everyone that I saw and Hanging up the signs for over 2 hours.........

I have checked on tiki he doesnt have much right now besides some WC and anakaramy(sp pink ones)

Id really like to get another Ambilobe......I just love all the colors they have and they just POP out in the cage......man I cant beleive Im even talking about replacing him...:(........i feel so dang horrible about all of this.

Why not go to door to door in your apt complex and ask if their kid brought home a new cham. Take a picture of him with you as proof. Tell them there is a reward for his safe return, no questions asked, you just want him home safely as they are a difficult creature to care for..

Sorry to hear about this, i always keeep an eye on my oustalet and i get really nervous sometimes, being that he lives outside and all, he is well hidden in my backyard and the only neighbor that CAN see him is very trustworthy, i hope somehow he can be returned.

I think if the critters are kept outside, the cage needs to be bolted down and somehow secured with alock apparently. People are desperate to make a buck these days and will steal whatever they can to pawn off. Again, Sorry Codi. I would definately scour the neighborhood asking questions! When some kids let me dogs out (I know not the same thing but these are HUGE great danes that are not only priceless to me but worth alot to other and scare people at the same time) I had the Fedex guy driving around looking! I know its easier find because they were outside and huge compared to a cham, but Im just saying..get some of the local kids, offer them like a few bucks to ask around and if someone can recover him, they get a bigger reward.. Kids will do anything for $$.

I will Def have to try this.......I offered a $150 reward to whoever brought him back on the signs....How much do u think I should pay them??

Thank you:eek:
The thing that is the worst about all of this is I was at work when it happened. My little brother is over for the weekend and decided he would put him out since I always do.... I suppose he was just trying ot be helpful...When I take him out I always sit outside with them and mist them pretty much the whole time to make sure they dont get to hot. Everytime I would hear a bird I would like stand up and look around to make sure it wasnt trying to come out of the sky and grab one up.....

He offered to buy me another one, But he is 15 I dont think he realizes how much they cost!

The only downfall is that you have to make sure somehow that they are actually looking and not just taking your $$ and jacking around instead.. ya know?

That sucks. post ads on Craigslist about your lost cham too and I would also take a pic on a flyer to every vet local and have them hold onto it in case someone brings one in as when people find exotics, they drop it off at a vet rather than animal control..but do it with animal control too just in case, you never know..

I'm so sorry Codi. Hows the lil one taking it?:(

Actually suprisingly well.....I was pretty upset and he told me dont let your heart hurt. You can by another one.......:eek:

He has asked me if he came home yet a couple times but for the most part Hulk my new veiled is keeping him pretty entertained....

WTF is it with people stealing chameleons lately...sorry about your loss man. Id make up fliers and give them to the mail man for you complex and ask if he could put one in everyones mail box...that way you know for sure that they will see the fliers.

I think if the critters are kept outside, the cage needs to be bolted down and somehow secured with alock apparently.

The only problem i see with this is the cage is screen...one cut with a knife and the locks and bolts have been bypassed...

im afriad more and more of these threads will be uprising soon...its summer....its warm and great for chameleons to go outside....kids have no school, and can just walk around all day long until something catched their eyes in you back yard...(your at work....or away from the house cause you have a life...unlike a 12 year old child) snatch...and then he will just slowly die in the kids hands...poor cham....sounds like most peoples only hope is to pray that the kid has strict parents and they find out and make him reture it!
