Curious what peoples opinions are of this light fixture ?

My terrarium is 48"L x 18"W x 36"T

This fixture is a 36" Dual Bulb T5 & Dual Bulb Halogen, are the extra built in Halogens worth it? The T5 seems to be the cream of the crop for UVB so their a given.

The dual T5s will be great. Halogen bulbs produce more heat than regular heat bulbs. What kind of chameleon are you planning on using them for? Do the bulbs come with it and if so how many watts are they? You might just want to use one of them but like always check your temps.

Look for T5 HO (high output) fixtures when purchasing, especially for 36-48" tall cages. Some regular T5 fixtures have strong enough ballast to run the HO bulbs, but not all.

Sorry I should of said that in the OP but its a Panther chameleon, the halogens are 35w bulbs seem kinda small maybe useless for the 36" depth...

You mentioned in my other thread concerning the depth temp & humidity of things that I might not need a basking lamp due to the ambient temp & humidity, if so then maybe just a Quad 48" T5 Fixture would be enough, I want to keep plant(s) inside the Terrarium as well so I will require a plant light which apparently this fixture comes with.

I use the ZooMed Aqualamp T5 HO fixtures. I have about 8-9 of them. They, as well as LYR's fixture are HO. You can use the 4way by itself most likely. I like the Aqualamp because it has individual I/O switches for bulbs. So if it was too hot with a 4way, you could turn one bulb off if needed. I am not sure if the LYR has 4 switches. As far as plant lights, 2 6500k daylight bulbs in a quad, should be just fine, especially in a 36" tall tank.

I believe light your reptiles quad(tropic blaze) fixture comes with 3 cords so you can shut some off if needed.

So what would be your recommended Quad Layout 1x6% + 2x6500K + ???

Maybe 2x6% + 2x6500K ?

I believe light your reptiles quad(tropic blaze) fixture comes with 3 cords so you can shut some off if needed.

I think only problem with this is that if you do want to shut off a light you must shut down 2 of them...
