this lady isnt too smart.....(-_-)

I've seen this video before.

If you watch how she is handling him it seem she realizes he has health issues. Look how she puts his HEAVILY dusted feeders right in front of him and makes sure they don't run off and look how she holds him as if she is almost cradling him.

I'm not sticking up for her or even saying she is giving 100% adequate advise on Chameleon care. Just an observation I've made after seeing the video a bunch of times.

Yeah but if she knows he has issues she should have addressed that at the beginnning of the vid. She could have said something like "this cham has mbd, but is still able to have a good quality of life". And then explained the situation and what to do to keep anyone elses from getting in that condition.
Personally I think shes just clueless as to the seriousness of his situation.

Yes he looks pretty sick to me. I don't like the way she's handling him... She's trying to sound informative but in reality she's not being very helpful to anyone by saying they like really high temps. To someone not experienced that can mean 100 degrees! (sigh) Poor Cham.:( I just hope people watching this do real research before they get a Cham.

As where I do agree I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt thinking may be he's a rescue jokes probley on me lol.

Didn't she say she works at some type of life center? May be she was misinformed on proper care, it happens.

EDIT: She works at a life lab

i agree with all you. what shocks me the most is how deformed his jaw is.:(
but chameleons can get sick really quick without the proper care.:(

good point. i thought that same thing but i couldt really say thats true (ya know if she does rescues...)

Its the holidays I'm trying to see the best in people blah blah blah ;)

All jokes aside though, I don't feel people who give improper care due it intentionally. They usually were missed informed or are unaware of the importance of all steps in the care. Just my little side note of the day lol

You may be right Jessica. I guess i just saw the shape he was in and saw red. He indeed could be a rescue. If he is she needs to tell people and use him as an educational tool. He'd be a perfect example of what not to do your veiled chameleon. In some cases it can be hard for the inexp. to recognize mbd but his case is easy to see and point out to newbs. They need to see first hand what damage can occur if they have improper husbandry.

I agree with you totally, I had no clue what I was doing when I got my first Cham, lol, but I mean she could at least try and research a little, you know? (sigh) I just hope he's doing fine and she has been properly informed. :p

Really incredible how many bad videos, with people pretending chameleons knowledge ,you can find on youtube.
Disgusting :(

Well that guy looks to be the result of A cheap lazy first owner! I'm thinking he is A rescue guy. As dumb as she seems she does apear to care.

Any damage that has been done already will usually remain...but if the MBD is caught early enough that there isn't organ damage, etc. it can be brought back into balance and live quite a long life.

IMHO the one in that clip is still not well because it doesn't exhibit trunkal lifting.

I saw how heavily dusted the insects were. If that's how they intend to bring it back to balance, it will be a slow process....and since they don't even mention that it has MBD I doubt that they even realize it.

This video has been posted before and it made people on this forum quite angry. Some members here even sent her hate mail. I do not even know the girl but I must say I do not think it is her fault, but of course she has some things to learn. If I'm not mistaken she took the sick animal in on rescue. Obviously, she is over dusting the superworms. However, I still don't think it is right to attack her here on the forum. This will just alienate her and she will never learn anything.

I agree. There are plenty of people out there that are intentionally hurting and exploiting animals. This woman isnt trying to do any harm even if she actually is. I have a question though about the over dusting. Why is that so harful. I thought you just put feeders in a cup or bag and shook them around. How can you over dust? And wouldnt the excess calcium just pass thru their system??
