So yesterday all day everyone i went near yodas cage he would turn his defensive colors...black and yellow and some green etc. I was beginning to think he really just hates me or is terrified of me even though I love him so. Then last night I realized I was wearing a shirt with a big jaguar face on it. After I changed shirts he was normal and content with me. Has anyone else ever had a chameleon react that way to clothes?

Wow! That's strange! Never happened to me. I even have a shirt with a super realistic chameleon on it, and Emoji's never reacted that way!

Haha..yes. I have a shirt of a lion, same reaction. He thinks you're going to have him for lunch :D

Here is a pic of the shirt I was wearing. Now i can see how that would be a little scary for the little guy!

My husband has both and owl and a tiger face t-shirt that Ferdinand hates. It's about the only time I have ever seen him puff up and do that funny chameleon hiss.

I hardly ever wear a hat in the lizard room, but when I do most chams don't come running for food they get defensive and posture at me. Even if it's a SF Giants hat, go figure!

I wore a red shirt today for work, and when I stopped by the cage before leaving, our guy was a little freaked out. I know my fish used to flip out if you wore anything red near the tank.

Indeed! Any dark colored shirt and Lucky (Veiled) "freaks out." Strangely enough, I can wear a light colored shirt, up to a light grey shade and he's o.k. From my understanding, he must see me as a big chameleon. If I come to him "all fired up" then he's threatened. Otherwise, when I'm wearing neutral colors, he's cool. Talk about being passive aggressive. :D
