They're infiltrating....

I did the rounds in the herp room and noticed something weird in the Quadricornis cage. I'm guessing it hatched from one of the plants this afternoon...

While I had the camera, I figured I would grab a shot of the Quads...

So I go from the Quads cage to the Phantasticus enclosure and notice another one! I'm sure there will be more in the next few days. I couldn't grab a pic of the tiny one since that cage is heavily planted and I wanted to get it out while it was in range. I did get a shot of the Phantasticus though.

Luis, as always it is great to see the babies growing up. I would love to be able to take pictures the way you do.. our 2 are doing great too however we are unsure if we ended up with 2 males or 1 male and 1 female yet. I think that we may have 2 males.. but they are getting so big.. after the two hatched the other day I looked at our two and I can't believe that they were ever that small.. I didn't realize how big they had gotten.. we will have to try to get a weight on them, I think they may be heavier then all out there but not sure since I don't have that small of a scale.

Crazy.. never thought that you could end up with a little lizard hatching from inside a plant.. wow I guess he didn't get eaten since they babies are probably not too much bigger then him..

As always nice job Luis.. we are so happy to know that the little guys went to a good home!

Josh, it's funny because the Anole is just a bit bigger than the silkworms I've feeding the little ones, so I'm surprised it didn't get tagged. We'll see today since I really didn't want to tear the whole cage down just getting the little thing out of there. I figure, no harm no foul at this point. Now, the one in the gecko enclosure was a different story. Since a heavily planted tank, I didn't want to miss he opportunity to snatch the little guy out of there. I later realized that each cage has a potted moss plant that I had in pots outside for a few months during the spring. Go figure they each had eggs in them. I'm waiting for more babies to start popping up in the other cages too since we occasionally move the plants in and out.

Regarding the size, I had that same realization about a month ago when one was growin substantially larger than the other. Not sure if that's the male or not but it's still bigger than the other. By almost 30% according to the weights. Since they started takign larger food items they haven't stopped and are growing much faster, which was to be expected but boy do they grow slow!

I'm having a difficult time believing they will be "ready" by month 6. Not a complaint at all, but maybe we haven't figured something out?

At any rate, they've been soe of the most fun species to work with thus far. Love it.

Oh, one quick side note... that male Deremensis hasn't moved an inch in over a week. Talk about sedentary. sheesh!

Without disregard for your other great pics, your phant. looks fantastic!! I finally have been able to snap some pics of my phants, but I am wanting to get some good ones of the lineatus and fimbs. before I post them. Keep it up, Luis!

Thanks for the compliments. That's the female that dropped a couple of slugs a week or two ago. I have one other that is looking rather portly at the moment, so hopefully we'll see something good from her soon.

We caught the Lineatus getting frisky last week too. I never heard a Uroplatus squeal quite so harrowing than a non-receptive Lineatus female. Good thing the boy had an older, more experienced lady willing to take him on. Which reminds me, I have to start looking for eggs soon!

I haven't been able to get any decent shots of the Fimbriatus yet. They're enclosure is rather large and the whole front is the door leaving the potential for the them to jump on me while I'm standing in front of the cage. Yes, it's happened a few times already.

Excellent!! Good to hear you're getting some results!! Yes, aren't their squeals funny?? I have heard that on occasion.... You won't miss those eggs - they are quite big (as big as vorax eggs if you've seen them...). My male really digs his 2 new females, although they could care less about him.

I was digging in the fimbs cage the other day and the female came out (nicely, without pouncing on me...) and preferred to sit on my shoulder the entire time! She was just as sweet as can be. However, they freak me out at night when the lights are off - they are super spooky....
