Just a few miles outside my town just happens to lie the largest reptile zoo in the world. So i get to go whenever I want. Unfortunately they only have one chameleon but it is a Meller's. And they have on display this neat skeleton of a Jackson's. Just thought I would share. :)

I like the mounted skeleton too! I've always wanted something similar... I always joke that when I die.... lol

Are you talking about reptile gardens?

I visited last summer on my cross country road trip. I still have a little horned lizard bobble head that I got at the souvenir shop on the dash of my van.

Was pretty cool if you are a venomous snake freak, not as cool if you are into lizards.

Lizard terraria could use definite improvements. I felt like they really didn't understand lizards. At all. Felt disappointed and kind of sad about some of what I saw with the lizard setups. Lizards are not snakes, and they obviously don't have a lizard expert on staff.

I enjoyed the venomous collection, and I enjoyed seeing some frogs I had not seen in real life, but have seen on price lists over the years. The guy who did both live shows was entertaining.

I was there long ago in the 80s as well. It has grown!

They had pits of snakes in those days. Huge outdoor pits. Those were covered over- 1 was now a garden.
In the big indoor pit they had lots of snakes chasing frogs to eat in those days- LOL visitors walked right among the snakes chasing the frogs!

Was fun to visit again and see the changes. Wish they did a better job for their lizards.

As a kid one of my best friend's father taught anatomy. Had a real human skeleton in his study named oscar!

I tell my family I want to be chopped up and fed to the tegus and monitors...

I think the monks who do that and feed their dead to the vultures in Tibet have the right idea. A chance to give life back instead of being pickled and stuck in an airtight box where I will nourish nothing...

FINALLY! ANOTHER SOUTH DAKOTAN THAT KEEPS CHAMELEONS! Sadly you live across the state! :/ I haven't been there in the 16 years I have lived here! :/

Yeah its mostly a snake place. Terry Phillips is the curator there and he is a big snake guy. But its a 10 minute drive from my house. Its cool none the less. The dome has lots of beardies, water dragons, agamas, and basilisks running around cageless. Pretty neat. And ChameleonRave, you should check it out sometime. Its pretty awesome.

I hope to get out their this summer. I contacted them to see what they had and they only said the Mellers except they said "Muellers Chameleon" LOL.
