Here is a link to the IUCN Chameleon Specialist Group. They are doing population and habitat studies of chameleons and working as a part of the IUCN Red List. They have been publishing other studies about chameleons as well. I expect that population habitat and studies about chameleons from this group will go towards updating CITES quotas and current IUCN Red List status.
