The Family part 1

Here are my reptiles, yes I have a couple who aren't perfect but I take in strays and rescues, and love them like the rest.
#1 & 2 are the little quad I adopeted form Chameo and recieved 5/8/09, she is still getting settled
#3 is Ben, who I love with all my heart even with his advanced MBD, he has to live in a crate as he can't climb.
#4 is Buddy, the ambiliobe who won't stay off my hand
#5 is Arnold, who loves his ladder, he even sleeds on the ladder, not on a perch, after he goes over to warm up in the morning he heads right back to the ladder!! I think it is love.

Is Tuffy rescued from Chameo? I saw her on there and wondered who adopted her... good luck with her, how is she doing? Did you recently get her? We have quads and love them!

Yes she came from ChamEO, I got her on 5/8, she seems to be settleing in nicely. She has been eating silkworm & horworms but all I have is wax worms and butter worms. She will eat wax worms but won't touch butter worms. I sure hope my silkworms get here soon.

I have no problem with keeping humidity at 70 or higher but man my temp goes up, a couple of times it went to 72. Any ideas for me?

invest in a personal room AC unit. sure it costs like 150 bucks.

but if it can keep a good portion of your room cooler, then its worth it.

Hi Laurie! Happy Mother's Day! Tuffy looks really good and it's so good to hear she's doing well for you. It's great we were able to get her into a great home.

Thanks for sharing all of the photos. Best wishes for everyone. :)

We have a couple of quad males to be available soon. I'm just saying. ;)

Tuffy looks like shes well on her way to an excellent recovery. Elisa made a wise choice placing her with you.;) I was interested in her, and Elisa and I talked about it. I came to the conclusion that I simply could not keep temps cool enough to give her the environment she needed.:( I'm very glad you have her now, shes in good hands.:)

Nice family (and I haven't even looked at the other posts in this series yet!). Arnold and his ladder reminds me of my Thaxter and his favorite lampshade (which his predecessor, Saccardo, loved, too).

Laurie,
The temp is ok at 72, as long as you keep the mist going they should be fine. They are ok up to 80 but I think anything over that is pushing it. Ours are indoors and with the misting and only the UV, the ambient temp stays down. Hydration is the key, is there an area in your home that stays cooler then other rooms, you may want to move her if it gets to warm.

I don't think you are too far from us, but if you are getting some males soon, we would love to adopt them from you. As you can see from our posts, we are not breeders, these are actually our pets. They are in our living room and we are planning on keeping our female from breeding as she keeps on staying pregnant and we want her to have a break. But we love them, they are great and are able to provide a home if needed.
