The end of his tail seems burnt or dead.

I'm frightened for Kraken, the end of his tail seems burnt. I'm really scared. IMG_3727.JPG IMG_9148.JPG

Looks dead to me. Some injury, he bit it, a feeder bit it, it got pinched in something, etc. Best case is it dry gangrenes(which looks like what it is doing) and falls off on its own. Worst case is wet gangrene, which gets swollen at the damage site and slowly works up the bone. I personally have never seen wet in a "tail doesnt fall off" species, but have seen it several times in species that can drop and regrow tails.

I had the same issues I bought my chameleon like that at the expo and didn’t notice till I got home

Is he going to be okay? I'm taking him to the vet soon.
Were you able to get him into the vet? I hope all is ok with him. Let us know.

This is the one part of the body I watch meticulously when Beman sheds just to make sure there are no issues with a cuff. Also whenever I am working in his cage and he wants out I have to make sure that his body is no where near the door when I have to close it so I do not pinch anything. This is another reason to use a feeder run so you do not have feeders loose as well.

Hi! Not yet no, but he is acting really normal and like his normal self so- His tail is still the same but it doesn't look as it causes him pain but Im taking him to the vet soon.

Since Kraken hasn't been exposed to siblings in more than a year and a half we can eliminate that silly theory of it being a bite from a sibling.

Skin cuff is easily eliminated as well, they are very obvious when present. OP, have you recently noticed anything similar to this on your chams tail?
