The Effects Of TS Fay

Well, most of you already know about Tropical Storm Fay.
I'm sure most of you, most likely, don't want to hear anymore about it.
So, I decided to share anyways.:p
Since my boss has left for Seatle Washington, I've been working my buns off.
I haven't had a day off in 9 days straight. Plus, on top of all that, tomorrow is my 21st birthday and guess who has to work? ME!
I'm sure you're wondering what this has to do with my chameleons...
I got a phone call yesterday that we lost power in half our shop.
The chameleons ended up being on the side that lost power.
The light were out several hours before it was "safe" for me to come and turn them on.
I had to connect two 25' extention cords and run them to the chameleon cages.
I'm sure thier are some elcetricians on the forum that will tell me it's not safe to have:
One 4' Reptisun
Three heat bulbs
One heating pad
All running off one extention cord.:p
Anyways, we lost power for about an hour here in Melbourne, so my three of my chameleons, including a baby were without heat.
Now they are threatening to turn off all the electricity in Melbourne because of the high water.
The community I live in has underground cables.
I can't wait to see what will happen.

I have included some photos I took of the aftermath.
Areas around Melboune recieved between 15-20 inches of rain.
We might recieve more when the bands start to make their way around the storm.

Here is one of a sign in the front of my subdivision.
Drivers were creating a wake that was pushing water into their houses.

Here is the "No Wake Zone".

Justin - glad ya'll are safe! We are expecting rain from Fay for the next 2 days here in Georgia. My backyard may end up looking like yours.

Thanks for the images. It's a difficult period you guys are going through. Hope it passes with minimum damage.

Don't dread the birthday thing, it happens every year.

WOAH , i live in arizona nad we get some bad monsoons and they suck when you gota do repair work.

i couldn't imagine doing any kind of water damage remidiation in some of those homes...trying to dry that shit out gotta be insane.

That looks bad. I hope you're doing better than the poor lady

Do you expect the Daytona show to be severely affected.

I am so happy that we are past it, but I am sorry it went your way. We didn't have any flooding here in SoFla, but it rained for 5 days with winds gusting to 35 mph. Much better than having another hurricane running through here.

I hope you get to dry out soon and don't suffer any damage. I also hope everyone's chameleons stay safe.

Thanks for the support.
I'll post some post flood pictures once the water levels drop back to normal.
It will happen after the Daytona show, so look for an update by Sunday.

~Justin
